About yttowav
A free YouTube to WAV converter built around one idea: paste a link, get your audio, move on.
What this is
yttowav.net converts YouTube videos into WAV or MP3 audio, straight in your browser. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no daily limit on how many files you can convert.
Most conversions finish in under ten seconds. The file downloads, and that's the whole interaction.
Why it exists
Most free converters are slow, buried in redirects, or fail halfway through. This one was built because none of the existing options were both fast and honest about what they do.
So the priorities here are simple: get the file quickly, don't trick anyone into clicking the wrong button, and don't ask for an account to do something that doesn't need one.
How it works
When you paste a link, the audio stream is pulled through dedicated proxies and converted on a server that does nothing else. The file starts downloading while it's still being written, which is why the download button appears within a few seconds rather than at the end.
- WAV output at 1411 kbps, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz — standard CD quality
- MP3 option for when you need a smaller file
- Videos up to 2 hours are supported
- Files are deleted within 30 minutes, downloaded or not
One thing worth being straight about: YouTube already compresses its audio. Converting to WAV keeps what's there without adding another round of compression — it doesn't magically improve the original recording.
Who uses it
Mostly people working with audio: music producers pulling samples, DJs building sets, podcasters grabbing interview segments, and video editors who need a clean audio track. Plenty of people just want a song offline, and that's fine too.
Privacy
No account, no email, no profile. We don't know who you are and we don't want to. Files are temporary and deleted automatically, and we don't sell any of the technical data our servers log.
The site does run ads — that's what pays for the servers and proxies. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Keeping it free
There's no premium tier and no plan to add one. Ads cover the running costs, and if direct support ever covers them instead, the ads come off.
If you'd like to help with that, the support page explains how.
